Murphy "Stay Sharp" knives are the result of more than 150 years of knife manufacturing experience. Since 1850, the company has produced cutlery for professionals in almost every field. The very finest steels are carefully developed into blades that are accurately hardened and tempered, precision ground, polished and hand honed. Murphy craftsmen produce cutting tools that "Stay Sharp" and provide maximum service.
For a company to be in the same business for that long says something! These knives are top quality and very sharp and are perfectly balanced in your hand. Each knife undergoes a 10-step hand-on production process, ensuring unsurpassed attention to detail and exceptional "Made in USA" quality(which is stamped on it)!
I loved using the knife even though at first I though it would be to big for me to handle. I normally avoid knives this size but I was shocked at just how easily it was to control. Now my hubby on the hand, prefers this size and he obviously had his vegetables chopped way before I did. I am getting more comfortable with the size since I have no problem handling it though. It doesn't require alot of care for it either. Just hand wash it(but don't let it sit in water), dry and store in in a wooden block, a magenetic strip or even the cardboard sleeve that comes with it. Every once in a while lightly coat your R Murphy Knife with mineral oil to protect the steel and wood as well as enhance the look. Remember to keep it out of direct sunlight also and use a wood or bamboo cutting board when using it.
One of my lucky readers will win a R Murphy 10" Professional Chef Knife for their own home.
